Colorado 5280 Magazine Best DUI Attorney Profiles

The top attorneys in Denver for 2014 list as ranked by Super Lawyers is not part of the 5280 Magazine advertising insert this year. Instead, Super Lawyers is part of a Denver Post Sunday insert, which was released in April 2014.

The magazine attempts to list the best lawyers in Colorado based on a voting process and editorial research. DUI attorney Jay Tiftickjian was listed for the fifth consecutive time as a rising star trial lawyer, which lists the best attorneys under age 40. No more than 2.5% of Colorado lawyers are listed for this category.

Mr. Tiftickjian also appeared in the 5280 Magazine’s Attorney Profiles for 2013. Both profiles highlight his experience and aptitude in DUI defense. Tiftickjian was published in many legal texts on defending drunk drivers and handling drug cases. Over the past year, he has lectured on DUI defense, trial skills, and ethics for the state criminal bar association.

Exceptional DUI defense requires a high level of criminal trial experience coupled with specific training in DUI defense and chemical testing. All of the attorneys at Tiftickjian Law Firm have attended local and national seminars that focused on defending DWI cases as well as the scientific and forensic evidence that drunk driving cases include.

Tiftickjian received his B.A. and J.D. degrees from the State University of New York at Buffalo, where he began his legal career defending criminal cases for a prestigious law firm in Buffalo, NY.  In 2002, Attorney Tiftickjian relocated to Colorado and worked as a Deputy District Attorney for Adams County, where he prosecuted felony, misdemeanor and DUI cases.

Tiftickjian left the DA’s office in 2004 to return to private practice. He has defended hundreds of charges, from murder and felony sex assaults to serious drug offenses, DUI charges and major traffic offenses.

Attorney Tiftickjian has received outstanding case results, including not guilty verdicts and dismissals of charges ranging from Accessory to First-Degree Murder, First-Degree Assault, Kidnapping, DUI, DWAI, Distribution of Drugs, and Careless Driving Resulting in Death.

Mr. Tiftickjian is a sustaining member of the National College for DUI Defense, and a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He is also a life member of the Colorado Criminal Defense Bar.  He is admitted to practice in Colorado, New York, the United States District Court for the District of Colorado, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.

Tiftickjian is certified as both an instructor and practitioner in the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHSTA) DUI field sobriety-testing procedures.  In addition, he has completed the National College for DUI Defense’s summer session program conducted at Harvard Law School multiple times.
