In reality, there are many ways you can go out for a good time without breaking the law and risking the lives of others. Keep things low key. Have a drink, maybe even two. Just space out your drinks every few hours and try to select drinks with low alcohol content –like light beers or Kahlua with milk.
Stay dry. Maybe you’ve never been able to have “just one” drink. If that’s the case, try avoiding alcohol consumption all together. We recommend carrying a soda or fruit juice with you at all times so you won’t be tempted to grab a beer. You’ll be surprised how fun a night of sobriety can be.
Phone a friend. Or just bring one with you. A sober friend is a good friend to have, just make sure to return the favor when they want to knock back a few.
Call a cab. That’s what they’re here for. If you’re worried about the price, remember, a taxi ride is a lot cheaper than a DUI.
Take a walk. Exercise is great and walking home on a crisp, clear night can be a beautiful and relaxing experience. Besides, you never who you’ll bump into on your way home and perhaps the party will continue long into the night.
