Beginning with what I believe is the absolute most important and meaningful thing that Jay Tiftickjian and the rest of Tiftickjian Law Firm did well for me in my case: not a single time throughout my contact with Jay did I feel like I was being judged, labeled, or categorized because of my past mistakes or legal difficulties for which I needed defending. I had the unfortunate situation of getting a DUI last January. I found Jay through the National College of DUI Defense, which is a very prestigious organization with the most respected DUI defense attorneys in the country. I met with Jay two days after my arrest, when I was in an awful anxious state of mind. Jay immediately put my mind at ease, and felt more like a friend than my attorney. He spent a considerable amount of time with me during my initial consultation, walking me through every step of the process and being completely honest with me with what to expect. 
Through the entire judicial process and the DMV hearings, Jay and his colleagues kept me informed every step of the way. To be perfectly honest, the facts behind my arrest were pretty indisputable and I didn’t have any false hopes that my case would be dismissed. Jay and his team are super responsive as you’ll hear from most of his clients. His knowledge and expertise proved invaluable during my entire experience with the court system. I was arrested for my second DUI and Jay guided me through the entire process and I received the absolute best possible outcome given my set of circumstances. We worked together to mitigate my situation and minimize any of the possible punishments that the court was to impose. What I really like about Jay is that he will not sugar-coat your situation. He will paint you a very realistic picture of what to expect during the entire process. This process can be very intimidating and you really need an expert like Jay to represent you in the best way possible. In the end, I was allowed by the Judge to carry out my jail sentence as In-Home-Detention, which was one of my biggest concerns. Long story short, I was pulled over in speed trap while driving home from dinner with my wife. I was charged with DUI/DWAI and several other charges including careless driving. Some of the charges were bogus. My main concern was to get rid of the alcohol related charges, since my BAC was low and I wasn’t driving carelessly. I retained Jay T. to represent me regarding a DUI over .20, involving an accident that was my fault, regular DUI and careless driving. From the initial contact with Jay I was confident that he knew the system and processes inside and out. He evaluated my situation and made recommendations to me in order to assist in my defense and eventual sentencing. I was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated when exiting a light rail station after a Broncos game. I submitted to a blood test which later determined my BAC was slightly over .2. While I am myself a lawyer, I found the DWI laws and the DMV regulations very complicated and convoluted. Jay answered all of my questions and instilled confidence. As a former district attorney, he was not only knowledgeable about the applicable laws, but also understood the system as a whole; the judges, district attorneys and DMV hearing officers. Jay was able to quickly secure a plea agreement with the DA resulting in the mandatory minimum penalties available by law. He was also able to get me a probationary license after the mandatory one month suspension, which enabled me to drive to work and satisfy family commitments.
