You should be aware that in Colorado, your Boulder County DUI charge gives rise not only to a criminal case, but also to an administrative action against your driver’s license by the Department of Revenue’s Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV). This driver’s license revocation action is separate from the Boulder DUI charge. Within seven days of being served with an Express Consent Affidavit and Notice of Revocation (which most drivers receive upon their release from jail or detox), you must request a DMV hearing or your driver’s license will automatically be revoked and you will not have an opportunity to challenge the action.
